Plan für FLIG1  Aufgabe 2  -  Pronunciation practice, Vocabulary, Verb forms   Dauer [length]:  4 Weeks

Special Note: This Aufgabe has one vocabulary list for you to learn (see item 3 below). It is not easy to learn vocabulary and should be done over many days. Do not wait until you have done all the other things to start learning the new vocabulary, and do not stop reviewing them once you have completed the computer exam on the words – you want to see the words many times in order to establish a good long-term memory trace [remember how many times the Pimsleur material repeats each item]. I suggest that you do steps ‘a’ and ‘b’ under Aufgabe 1, 4a every night or every other night; start with Vocab List 04 on one night and then do a review of Aufgabe 1 words the next night. Then when you are ready to really work on the spelling of the new words, the words will be familiar and not too hard to learn to spell. Be sure to carefully say the words aloud as you first start to read through the lists. Refer back to the pronunciation practice material if you have any questions or ask me.

 

Special Note 2:  Starting with this Aufgabe, I suggest that you fill out a single sheet which summarizes the information listed below for you to learn. This sheet along with your Daily Log Sheets will help you keep track of what you have learned and when. On this sheet you should indicated when you complete one of the numbered items listed below and also list the score for the computer programs in the second box next to that item. This sheet is called your lesson plan or Unterrichtsplan. Print out a copy of it now and keep it with your Daily Log Sheet. [Note: the Unterrichtsplan for this Aufgabe and future ones contains reference to Deutsch Konkret or things with a title containing 'DKxx'; these are older materials and should be ignored.]

Evaluation of this chapter will consist of reading scores for Vocab Liste 04, (10 points/list),  6 computer program scores (20 x 6 points), examples of 10 of the 11 grammatical terms [which you will need to provide] (20 points), scores on a quiz on verb endings, forms, and usage in sentences (20-30 points), of a chapter test which will require you to be able to say the answers to five spoken questions in which you tell a) your name, b) how old you are, c) where you come from, d) where you live, e) the name of someone else (20 points) and write the German for several of the words in your vocabulary lists, and to use a variety of verb forms and the answer questions and make sentences in German when given the English (about 50 points), and of a unit packet consisting of the Unterrrichtsplan sheet for this Aufgabe, your completed Verben1 & Verben2 practice sheet, and the printouts of your computer scores.
